The sitcom The Munsters aired at night once a week. It showed the life of a family of monsters. The series was a combination of both traditional monster movies and the wholesome family fare of the era. It had a total of 70 episodes, but after the second season, was canceled because of loss of popularity.

Etta James is one of the most dynamic jazz and R&B singer. Her career was at a high in the 60s when she released "At Last" and "I'd Rather Go Blind". Although she had problems with drug abuse, her outstanding voice surpassed and went beyond everytime she stepped behind a microphone. James poured out her soul everytime she sung leaving her audience intrigued.

Wilt Chamberlain was one of the greatest basketball players in the 1960s. He played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, and Philadelphia 76ers. He played the center position and is considered to be one of the greatest and most dominant players in NBA history.
BOXING
Muhammed Ali was a famous boxer who was phenomal. He became a Golden Gloves winner and Olympic medalist. In the 1960s, Ali won all of his fights and the majority of them were mostly by knockouts. One of his quotes was "Float like a butterfly and sting like a bee".
POP CULTURE
Tie-Dye was very popular with the American youth who opposed the Vietnam War.

Lava lamps was a decorative novelty item invented by Edward Craven-Walker. They were very popular in the 1960s. People bought them everywhere. Lava lamps were a big thing to have and was very popular kind of like the Apple products we have today. Everyone had lava lamps.
FADS OF PEACE
Peace signs, in the 1960s, symbolized the spirit of love, service to humanity, and peace. People wore peace signs on their clothes and you could even see them on the buses that had been painted on. Peace signs are still used today in the world.

The Feminine Mystique was a nonfiction book written by Betty Friedan and was published in 1963. It is widely credited to begin the sparking the second wave of feminism. It was a book written to express the feelings of women who were unhappy with their lives as housewives.
